Preparing the
solar hot air collector for installation. Here we see a hole
cut into the panel back. The short piece of duct will be
attached. Solar heated air will pass through the duct into
the house. Two openings
have been cut through the wall. The lower opening will allow
cooler house air to enter the solar hot air collector where
it will be heated and reenter the house through the upper
opening. In this case a small fan is used to increase air
flow. The panel
installed on the south wall of the home. This home is owned
by Columbus Park Housing, a non-profit housing provider in
Kenosha, Wisconsin. This
installation uses 2 panels. It's on a Habitat for Humanity
Home in Racine, Wisconsin. Heated air travels through a
blower and insulated duct in the attic to enter the house in
a central hallway. Another 2
panel installation. This system helps heat a second floor
flat in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
